Avtex Television DiSEqC Setup
It is possible for your Avtex television to control antennas such as a KVH Tracvision automatically switching between satellites by downloading a database of channels and setting the DiSEqC switching. Only change DiSEqc 1.0 settings, BE CAREFUL in this menu.
Press Setup on the remote control to access the menu, then down twice to enter satellite, then right click and down to Advanced Setup. Enter the code which is zero pressed four times.
Using the left or right buttons click until you see Astra 1 19.2E and then scroll down to DiSEqC 1.0 and press left or right until you see LNB1. Now press exit.
Press Setup on the remote control to access the menu, then down twice to enter satellite, then right click and down to Advanced Setup. Enter the code which is zero pressed four times. Press right or left until you see Hotbird 13.0E, then scroll down to DiSEqC 1.0 and press right or left until you see LNB2. Press exit.
Press Setup on the remote control to access the menu, then down twice to enter satellite, then right click and down to Advanced Setup. Enter the code which is zero pressed four times. Press right or left until you see Astra 2 28.2E, then scroll down to DiSEqC 1.0 and press right or left until you see LNB3. Press exit.
Now you have Astra 1 19.2E on LNB1, Hotbird 13.0E on LNB2 and Astra2 28.2E on LNB3 you need to do a channel scan.
Your television came new from Avtex with Astra 2 channels pre programmed. Providing you have not erased these you will need to scan in Astra 1 and Hotbird channels. In the advanced channels menu right or left click until Astra1 19.2E and the antenna will track this satellite. Switch off the antenna and scroll down to search, right click to see transponder. Press OK and the channels will load. This will take some time.
When finished turn on the antenna and in the advanced menu choose Hotbird 13.0E and when the antenna has locked on turn it off and and scroll down to search, right click to see transponder. Press OK and the channels will load. This will take some time. Expect to see 300 or more channels in the Hotbird and Astra1 database.
You will now have a database of the channels being broadcast on the 3 satellites in order. As you scroll through the channels if you choose one on a different satellite the antenna will automatically change to the desired satellite. The antenna will need to be powered all the time for DiSEqC to be able to switch between satellites.
